Rotary Drum Thickener
The Omega Rotary Drum Thickener (RDT) is designed for the continuous and automatic thickening of municipal and industrial sludge. Its compact design, low operating costs, and reliable performance make it an ideal solution for reducing sludge volume prior to dewatering, digestion, or disposal.
The RDT utilizes a slowly rotating drum combined with an internal spiral screw to efficiently separate water from sludge while maintaining simple operation and minimal maintenance requirements. Description
OPERATING MODE
Conditioned sludge enters the rotary drum through the inlet distribution system and flows into the rotating filtration drum. As the drum slowly rotates, free water passes through the filtration media while solids are retained inside the drum.
An internal spiral screw continuously transports the thickened sludge toward the discharge end of the drum. This design prevents short-circuiting of sludge flow and maximizes drainage efficiency throughout the thickening process.
Filtrate is collected within the integrated lower tank and discharged through a dedicated outlet. A built-in spray bar automatically cleans the filtration surface using pressurized wash water according to an adjustable timer sequence.
